中国第一次发现西周铜贝是陕西省周原扶风文管所

中国第一次发现西周铜贝，是陕西省周原（陕西省宝鸡市陈仓区周原镇）扶风文管所的工作人员，在1986年初发现的一枚罕见的西周青铜铸贝货币。

这枚铜贝长1.5厘米，宽1.2厘米，重2.9克，表面呈翠绿色，形状颇似磨贝式货币（海币的一种）。

考古专家认为，过去出土的西周货币多是海币，此次发现西周铜贝还是第一次。

China’s First Xi Zhou Dynasty’s Copper Coin

China’s first Xi Zhou Dynasty’s copper coin was discovered in the early of year 1986 by staffs of Shan Xi Province Zhou Yuan Town Fu Feng（扶风）Ancient Heritage Management Dept.

It’s a rare copper shell coin with lenth 1.5cm, width 1.2cm and weight 2.9g. Its’ apperance was emerald color, looking like a grinding seashell coin ( a kind of seashell coin).

Archaeologists recognized that it was the first Xi Zhou Dynasty copper coin discovered since before it, most of the unearthed currency were seashell.
